10 The Tahoe Looks More Stylish And Modern Than Ever Before
When you take a look at the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe, you can instantly tell that it's new and improved. The exterior has been redesigned to give it even more curb appeal than it already had before. Everything from the lights to the bumpers has received a ton of attention to make this the most aggressive-looking Tahoe yet.
Changes
Every trim on the new Tahoe model receives an updated front fascia, with certain trims like the Z71 featuring some unique elements. The new front fascia pairs with obvious changes to the headlights, as is seen in the more prominent daytime running lights over the outgoing model. This better aligns it with some of Chevy's other modern SUV offerings. Also new for 2025 are Cypress Gray and Lakeshore Blue Metallic paint options, giving you even more customizability over last year's model.
9 New 24-Inch Wheels Are The Biggest Fitted To Any Tahoe
Along with a new front fascia and new lighting elements, the Tahoe and Suburban both get access to a brand-new set of wheel options. These wheels accentuate the upper trims of the Tahoe lineup, making them stand out more and aligning better with their bigger-than-life attitude.
Changes
The new wheel options are a pair of 24-inch wheels, the biggest wheels ever to grace a Tahoe. These wheels aren't available on any model, though, and you'll have to go with the pricier RST or High Country models. The largest wheels that you could get on the 2024 model year Tahoe were 22-inches. New similar-sized wheels are featured on other GM vehicles, like the 2025 Cadillac.
8 Chevrolet Has Revamped The Interior As Well
While curb appeal is certainly important, especially in such a behemoth of an SUV, just as important is the feel of the cabin. That's why Chevrolet has completely revamped the interior as well. Chevrolet says that the aim of these changes is to make the cabin feel more spacious and more tech-focused. It's now even better on long trips than ever before.

Changes
To start, Chevrolet has redesigned the center console, allowing you to store more and moving the wireless charging pad to a more convenient position. The steering wheel has also been completely redesigned. Chevrolet has also increased the luxe feel of higher trims by including more soft-touch materials and more color options for trims. The RST and Premier trims get unique interior styling. The High Country models also get access to authentic wood decor, which is a first for the Tahoe.
7 Chevy Has Given The Tahoe A New Digital Dashboard
Key to the redesign of the interior of both the Tahoe and the Suburban is the brand-new digital dashboard. This combination of screens gives Chevrolet the edge in its class, with the most digital real estate out there. This definitely demonstrates the brand's dedication to embracing new technology.
Changes
For 2025, the Tahoe will feature a new duo of screens that share the same bezel. The first of these screens is the 17.7-inch infotainment screen, with the second being an 11-inch digital gauge display. These screens are cantered slightly towards the driver to give you more control. Despite this obvious focus on technology, there are still plenty of physical buttons and dials for essential controls.
6 SuperCruise Sticks Around For The 2025 Model Year
One of the newest selling points in new vehicles produced under the General Motors umbrella is SuperCruise. This hands-free driving technology has only been available on select vehicles in the General Motors lineup, with the Tahoe making the cut.
How It Works
Many expect the autopilot systems in modern cars to completely take control of the vehicle. However, there are caveats to the use of these systems. SuperCruise essentially takes the strain off the driver by utilizing cruise control systems and a variety of cameras and sensors to control speed and turn the wheel when necessary. You still have to be aware while driving, though, and you have to be on a compatible road. SuperCruise is one of the more advanced systems out there, though, and we're glad to see it return for the 2025 model year.
5 The Tahoe’s Diesel Engine Gets A Power Boost
One of the most exciting changes that Chevrolet has made is to their diesel engine option. While most Tahoes leave the factory equipped with a V-8, we think the Duramax diesel has been a fantastic addition to the lineup. A power boost to this engine will no doubt make it an even more popular choice.
Changes
Engine | 3.0-Liter Turbocharged Diesel Inline-Six |
Transmission | 10-Speed Automatic |
Horsepower | 305 HP |
Torque | 495 LB-FT |
Driveline | RWD or 4WD |
The change in power from the 2024 model to the 2025 model is quite significant. The current diesel engine produces 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. This represents a 10 percent and 7.6 percent increase in horsepower and torque, respectively. This is thanks to some retuning of the turbocharger and the refinement of a number of internal components. Most importantly, you can also now equip the Duramax diesel engine in off-road trims like the Z71.
4 Chevrolet’s V-8 Options Remain Untouched From 2024
If the diesel engine isn't quite your cup of tea, fear not. Chevrolet offers two V-8 engines of varying sizes and outputs. These two engines are more than capable of taking on any task that you may have in mind for this massive beast.
Performance
Engine | 5.3-Liter Naturally Aspirated V-8 | 6.2-Liter Naturally Aspirated V-8 |
Transmission | 10-Speed Automatic | 10-Speed Automatic |
Horsepower | 355 HP | 420 HP |
Torque | 383 LB-FT | 460 LB-FT |
Driveline | RWD or 4WD | RWD or 4WD |
The 5.3-liter V-8 remains the standard powertrain in the 2025 Tahoe, producing plenty of horsepower and torque for most people. For those looking for a little more power, the 6.2-liter V-8 is an absolute monster with tons of power. The diesel engine does, however, now sit as the option with the most amount of torque.
3 Chevrolet’s Large SUV Gets New Towing Aids
If you're looking to buy a big and capable SUV like the Tahoe, then towing is likely to be near the top of your priority list. The Tahoe has always been pretty good at this task, but Chevrolet now upgrades some of the Tahoe's offerings in order to make it one of the best vehicles for hauling out there.
Changes
Included in the new list of available equipment is a trailer health monitor which helps to prevent blowouts when carrying large loads. A new mobile trailering app offers real-time access to your Tahoe's load rating. When turn signals are activated while towing, you'll notice an image on the Tahoe's screen that indicates the estimated path of your trailer. Finally, the navigation system will now calculate the best possible route based on the load that you're towing.
2 The Tahoe’s Suspension Has Been Refined For 2025
One of the main things that Chevrolet has aimed to address with this update is the ride and suspension of the Tahoe. The Tahoe is considered to be one of the better-handling full-size SUVs, but Chevrolet is committed to making the Tahoe the most comfortable large vehicle to drive.
Changes
The multilink independent rear suspension design that made its debut on the Tahoe has been further refined for the 2025 model year. Chevrolet has also further calibrated the steering to provide more feedback and control.
1 You Can Now Equip The RST Trim With Air Springs
The mid-level RST is a crowd-favorite Tahoe trim. It's priced pretty competitively, looks fantastic, and is absolutely loaded with features. Now for the first time, the trim will also come with Air Ride Adaptive Suspension. Previously, this feature was reserved for the High Country and Z71 trims.
Changes
Air Ride Adaptive Suspension is a system found in a number of vehicles that offers automatic load-leveling and ride-height adjustment. For example, when driving on the highway, your Tahoe will automatically lower itself to reduce drag and improve fuel efficiency. You also have control over the height of your Tahoe and you can do things such as raise ride height when traveling off-road.
